Pete Biltz
My Scouting story goes back to my childhood circa 1977 when I had joined Troop 125 in Lakewood, Ohio. My oldest brother George had just earned his Eagle Rank and I committed to joining him someday. My father was an ASM, my 3 other brothers were part of the Troop at some point as well and my mother supported the committee in multiple roles. Great times, friendships and skillsets were quickly obtained an still exist today. I earned my Eagle badge in 1982 with my brother George watching on and my father George watching from the heaven's. My mother was and has always been such an inspiration in my life and that is especially true with her assistance in my Scouting career. As it turned out, my mother remarried the Scoutmaster of that Troop and until his death we were very close as stepson and father. Fast forward to 1989 and wrapping up my years at BGSU, I came across an opening for a job with the BSA and began working for the NW Suburban Council in Chicagoland area from 1989-98. I then moved to Warren, Ohio area and worked there from 1998-2012 serving as Assistant Scout Executive. My current position finds me in Cleveland covering development/special events in a seven county footprint. I am so thankful for my many role models, mentors and friendships I have developed over the 4 decades of my Scouting life. Please join me in helping the next generation enjoy the merits of Scouting.
