WHY SUPPORT LOCAL SCOUTING
Each local Scouting Council is responsible for maintaining their own finances. Annual registration fees are a National fees; and, therefore, the Council relies on the philanthropic generosity of parents, alumni and friends to deliver quality, local Scouting. Lake Erie Council provides our Scouting family with a modest-sized professional staff who counsel, guide, and inspire volunteer leadership; a staff to maintain our beautiful camp properties and develops, coordinates and delivers quality year-round programming and outdoor adventures throughout our Council’s seven county territory; supports advancements; and, provides scholarships to Scouts who otherwise could not participate.
Investing in Scouting experiences directly benefits over 14,000 youth we serve in Northern Ohio. Though simple in concept, advancement through merit badges, community service and outdoor activities offers a world of boundless opportunities. Sustained monthly giving establishes the financial stability to deliver local Scouting. Your generous tax-deductible gift to the Boy Scouts of America provides direct funding for educational initiatives and active learning that program fees alone do not cover – is a statement about your belief in Scouting, our programs and our properties and in our belief in educating the entire mind of the young people.
